The African People's Education and Defense Fund, Inc. is a non-profit organization that co-sponsors the Uhuru Pies holiday fundraiser.
The African People's Education & Defense Fund strives to develop and institutionalize programs to defend the human and civil rights of the African community, and to address the grave disparities in education, health, healthcare, and economic development faced by the African community.
APEDF has a track record of creating and developing institutions that positively impact the African community. All these programs have been funded by individuals and businesses and grassroots fundraisers like Uhuru Pies. APEDF receives no government grants.

Uhuru Pies is supported each year by businesses and growers in the area. Every year, dozens of eggs and cases of yams are donated to Uhuru Pies. This enables us to deliver the finest, freshest gourmet pies and support the sustainable economic development programs of the African People's Education and Defense Fund. Donations are tax-deductible and all donors are recognized on our website and at our pie sales.

Uhuru Pies partners with charities in the regions where we sell pies. Individiduals and organizations can buy one or more pies and we will donate them in your name to a charity that serves holiday dinners to those in need.
